Every fall, TV shells out 20 or so new shows that will hopefully become the next Greys/Office/Mad Men. Normally, a few are cancelled after a dismal pilot episode, with more gone by January. I am still bitter that The Black Donnelly's got cancelled a few years ago. My DVR has been busy with new shows like the CW's Vampire Diaries(its okay) and Bored to Death along with Fall regulars: How I Met Your Mother, The Office, 30 Rock and the last few eps of Entourage.
The newest addition to the DVR will be NBC's COMMUNITY. I thought the pilot episode was hilarious. Joel McHale (from E!'s THE SOUP) is the lead in the show with a sure to be/soon to be well known cast (NBC seems to be hoping that Chevy Chase will be the new Alec Baldwin). Joel plays a lawyer who is disbarred for falsifying his credentials and must go to community college to regain his eligibility.
If you can, jump online to watch the pilot episode. Joel's character "convinces" Britta (token love interest) that he is a certified Spanish tudor in an effort to "tudor" her. That turns into a group study session that hilariously pokes fun at the full spectrum of social stereotypes. I plan on watching the pilot again before the second ep premieres Thursday after The Office!
